What if the secret to turning fruit waste into health-boosting ingredients was hiding in a green solvent? A new study uses bibliometrics and advanced extraction methods to unlock it.

Nature's waste might just be a treasure chest. Phenolic antioxidants and curcuminoids, molecules that fight oxidative stress, are hiding in fruit peels and seeds. But getting them out is tricky. This study dives into microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) and ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) using an ethanol-water mix, fine-tuned with response surface methodology to maximize yields of these bioactive compounds from turmeric.
